| 抄録: | 「生活者としての外国人」への効果的支援をおこなうための基礎研究として、日本と海外の公共サインのあり方について、その「質」と「量」を調査・分析した。その結果、世界的に公共サインの掲示には①英語表記を指向するパターン ②多言語表記を指向するパターン ③言語によらずピクトグラム表記を指向するパターンという、三つのパターンがあることが明らかになった。このうち②は日本で特徴的にみられるパターンであり、世界的には珍しい。情報伝達性という観点からみると不合理が大きい。③は複言語主義を掲げ、実際に複言語環境にあるヨーロッパに卓越するパターンであり、最も合理的な情報伝達になる可能性が高いと考えられる。 : In order to provide effective support to "Foreign Residents in Japan" we analyzed and studied a variety of public signs seen in Japan and foreign countries form qualitative and quantitative point of view. According to our survey, public sign can be roughly divided into three groups: (1) English oriented sign, (2) multi-lingual sign and (3) pictogram without language. Pattern (2) is widely seen in Japan but is not seen in foreign countries. We could say that this type of sign is inefficient in conveying information. On the other hand pattern (3) is widely seen in many European countries which is reasonable way as a medium for communication. |
